Department Structure
The Department of Geotechnical Engineering employs 28 staff members, including 23 university teachers and 5 research engineers. The staffs is experienced in civil and environmental engineering; many employees have the government licences for civil engineering activities, geological-engineering and hydrogeological investigation, environmental impact assessment as well as the certificates of the Polish Committee of Geotechnics.
The Department of Geotechnical Engineering own modern geotechnical laboratory, in-situ test equipment and specialist computer programs.
In the Department of Geotechnical Engineering the postgraduate diploma and engineering diploma are accomplished in the I – Bachelor degree, II – Master studies and III – PhD level studies, on the Building and Environmental Engineering course.
The Research Projects are accomplished with the co-operation of EU countries. The Projects are financed by Ministry of Scientific Research and Information Technology.
The head of Department of Geotechnical Engineering is Professor Zbigniew Marek Lechowicz.
